JOB DESCRIPTION: Desktop Support - Part-time

Would consider full-time position if applicant is willing to accept other operational banking duties.

First New Mexico Bank, Las Cruces is seeking a Desktop Support technician.  This position assists staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications and related technology.  Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems and provide support to computer users with a variety of daily issues that require investigation and resolution of software and hardware problems. This position will also provide technical assistance to online banking customers.  May also assist network administrators in the maintenance and testing of network servers and associated equipment. The position’s responsibilities require independent analyses, communication and problem solving.  If you are computer-savvy and enjoy supporting end users, we would like to meet you.

Job Duties

  • Answer, evaluate and prioritize incoming telephone, voicemail, e-mail and in-person assistance requests from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking and other computer-related technologies
  • Interview user to collect information about the problem and determine whether problem is caused by hardware such as, printer, cables or telephone
  • Handle problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow up for routine users, referring more complex problems to supervisors or technical staff
  • Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software
  • Install computers/thin clients, software and peripheral equipment, as needed
  • Provide end user systems setup and access
  • Assist in ordering computer supplies
  • Provide technical assistance to online banking customers
  • Assist network administrators with special projects, as needed
  • All other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Computer technical skills with experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Windows 10
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills
  • Network experience preferred but not required
